Lot Essay

A. Lange & Sohne - Ferdinand Adolph Lange established Lange in1845 in Glashtte. His sons continued the family business, producing high-quality pocket watches. After World War II in 1948 the Soviets took over the manufacture and the company became defunct. After the fall of the regime, Walter Lange, Ferdinand's great-grandson, resurrected the company in 1990. In 1994 they introduced four new models, including the now iconic Lange 1 and the tourbillon "Pour le Mrite".
