Philip Rundell and John Bridge were appointed Royal Goldsmiths, Silversmiths, Jewellers and Medallists in 1797, and held the Royal Warrant until 1843. During this period they served four monarchs: Kings George III, George IV, William IV and Queen Victoria. Their list of employees includes the artists John Flaxman, R.A. and Thomas Stothard, R.A., both of whom designed and modelled silverware.

A collection of drawings and architectural plans related to Matthew Boulton and James Wyatt from the same private collection as these drawings was sold at Christie's, King Street, 16 December 1986, lots 32-62.
