APPARENTLY UNMARKED, PROBABLY LATE 18TH CENTURY
The coconut bowl carved with two oval cartouches, one carved 'Lembranea de Diamantina', the other carved with an eagle above the motto 'Gratidao', each within piqué beaded border, on spreading carved wood base with knopped stem, the rims and stem later applied with gold bands, the upper border engraved with a later inscription
4 7/8 in. (12.2 cm.) high
The later inscription reads 'A. C. H. to H. B. H. A Mark of Esteem after 23 Years'
