Previously attributed to Paulus Bor, this painting is closer in style to the Haarlem artist Pieter de Grebber, who joined the Haarlem Guild of St Luke in 1632 and was elected its dean in 1642. Together with Salomon de Bray he was a pioneer among the Haarlem Classicists.
