CASE: with canted angles and bombé plinth inlaid with a basket of flowers, on claw-and-ball front feet, the trunk door inlaid with flower sprays, glazed lenticle overlaid with patinated brass mount with Father Time, the hood surmounted by typical figural finials DIAL: 13½ in. (34 cm.) wide brass dial with scallop border and foliate spandrels to silvered chapter ring, matted centre with ringed winding holes and silvered seconds ring centred by a date aperture, with apertures for the days of the week and for the months with their corresponding deities, moonphase below, the arch painted with a maritime town view with rocking ships to the fore, black painted hands MOVEMENT: four pillars, with anchor escapement and Dutch strike and alarm on two bells; the case probably late 18th/19th Century, the movement and dial later; pendulum, three weights, crank key
