LATE 17TH EARLY 18TH CENTURY, THE LEGS REPLACED
Inlaid in première partie and contrepartie and decorated overall with foliate scrolls, the rounded rectangular brown leather-lined top with foliate reserves and cabochon clasps to the angles, above a conforming frieze drawer and kneehole, flanked by four short drawers to one side, with conforming simulated arrangement to the reverse, the sides centred by foliate cartouches, on hipped cabriole legs headed by bearded turbanned masks and terminating in hoof feet, converted from an eight-legged bureau, the mounts largely later
