After the picture with variations, in the Musée National du Château de Fontainebleau.

During the 17th Century, numerous copies of Ambroise Dubois' cycle of the story of Theagenes and Chariclea were commissioned by visitors to the Château de Fontainebleau. These high quality copies are usually partial replicas of the original works that hung in the Louis XIII salon.
