Lot Essay

Nemon was Churchill's choice of sculptor when Elizabeth II commissioned a bust of Sir Winston for Windsor Castle in 1952. The two men first met in Marrakech in 1951. Famously, Nemon's 1970 bronze of Sir Winston Churchill stands in the Members Lobby of the House of Commons.
