The case of typical form, the hood surmounted by three giltwood figural finials, cast brass lenticle depicting Father Time. The arched brass dial plate with silvered chapter ring signed Jan Hermelink Amsteldam, the brass matted and engraved center with ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds ring with date aperture, sectors for day of week and month above a painted and silvered rolling moonphase, polychrome painted dial plate with mythological figures and a baldachyn above a recessed panel with five rocking ships and Neptune riding a dolphin, brass four pillar movement with anchor escapement, Dutch strike on two bells; two large brass weights, pendulum, crank key and doorkey
