Finely enameled to one side with a woman performing a dance for seated court lady, her attendants holding peacock feather fans, the other with a scene from The Romance of the Three Kingdoms with the beauty Diao Chan inciting jealously between the warrior Lu Bu and the warlord Dong Zhuo, within gilt cartouches surrounded by large peony, lily and prunus blooms and butterflies, variantly patterned scrollwork panels at the shoulder and auspicious objects at the footrim, with lotus finials, one cover a replacement by Samson et Cie.
