"Tasted blind, I did not pick up the 1983 vintage, yet I was impressed by the weight of the upfront blackcurrant and plum fruit with a hint of smoke on the nose. On the palate the wine was fairly burly, with firm tannins and a compact structure, even if it does drop off a bit at the end. Really very nice." CC, with friends in Atlanta, May 2011
