Wonderfully fragrant nose of earth, Vosne spice and intense red and black fruit aromas that are still almost completely primary are followed by beautifully complex, surprisingly muscular flavors for the vintage and exceptionally good length. This is really very stylish and has much more depth and richness than the typical '87 and is a terrific performance for what was a difficult vintage. In short, delicious yet classy.
