Tasting note: A distinctive, brooding wine, sweet, powerful, spicy. More recently: deep, fairly intense, purple rim; relatively undemonstrative, deep, rich, meaty, impeccable nose; lovely flavour, mouthfilling; great length, spicy, tannic finish. Its 'second breath' seemed sweeter, surprisingly fleshy, open yet very tannic. Last tasted July 2003 (*****) 2012-2030 M.B.
