A Travelling Set of Enamelled Silver Utensils
(20th century)
Designed to hang by a cord through the ring from a sash, the case of triangular section like a shaft of bamboo, the hollow interior holding the blade of the removable knife, the hilt of the knife outside, the case also holding a pair of short chopsticks applied with a small silver turtle enamelled on the head in blue and on the shell in turquoise, the fronts of the hilt and case enamelled with further auspicious symbols, a pair of confronted dragons on the knife handle, and a pair of confronted bats on the lower case, the backs of the hilt and case enamelled with birds in flowering plum branches
