A thangka of a Bon refuge field
Eastern Tibet, 19th/20th century
With the great Bon deity Shenlha Okar seated on a lotus blossom at center, dressed in colorful robes and sashes and wearing a foliate tiara, backed by a nimbus and aureole supporting dragons and a Garuda, surrounded by Bon protector deities and personifications of the elements, with representations of the Enlightened Conqueror and Conquering Hero in the sphere at upper left and right, with banks of ascetic and monastic lamas seated on banks of clouds at the top
