The king in white untouched by color, seated on a striped carpet against a matching bolster, spraying colored water onto his courtiers with his gold syringe, everyone else with stained clothing bearing silver cylinders of colored water, a group of musicians at lower left, all seated on a white pavilion, their lower limbs lost in the cloud of powdered colors, against a lush landscape with trees, a silver river, and temples on the distant shores, an inscription in the sky above, all surrounded by yellow-ruled blue and red borders
