White-skinned Balarama in a red dhoti holding a hoe to pull the river Yamuna closer to his resting place seen above, the river spirits represented as four elegantly dressed ladies holding their hands up in supplication to dissuade him, the river filled with lotuses and the banks lined with flowering plants, with a high blue horizon and set on black ruled wide red margins
Opaque pigments on wasli heightened with gold
