A gilt statue of the goddess Durga riding her tiger held aloft by eight palanquin bearers and surrounded by four parasols, musicians and devotees in white dhotis, the procession led by a pair of elephants carrying flags and guided by green-turbaned mahouts, set on cream ground with low cloud-streaked horizon
