The central knob set within a square border from which project four 'T' motifs flanked by pointed nipples and positioned below 'L' motifs alternating with 'V' motifs incorporated into a band of characters executed in thread relief, all encircled by a hatchured border below sawtooth bands on the rim, with dark grey patina

Compare the related 'TLV' mirror illustrated in Luoyang chutu tongjing (Bronze Mirrors excavated at Luoyang), Beijing, 1988, no. 23, which has a similar center and sawtooth bands on the rim, but where each nipple centers a whorl motif.
