A VERY RARE SIGNED LARGE YIXING TREE TRUNK-FORM SCROLL POT
SIGNED XIE GUCHU
Of unusually large size, finely and realistically modeled and carved as a gnarled and rotting section of a pine tree with scaly bark and two branches bearing clusters of needles and pine cones, all in dark brown and beige clay, with seals stamped on the cut ends of two branches, one reading Xie Guchu yin (seal of Guchu), the other reading Guchu, with two further seals stamped on the recessed base, one reading X X yitao (X X Yixing pottery), the other Guchu
