Tibet, 14th century
Richly gilt overall, seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with deeply cast petals and beaded rims, wearing an ornate patchwork sanghati with beaded decoration, the hands held in dhyana- and bhumisparshamudra with chakras on the palms and soles of feet, the face serene with full lips, heavy-lidded eyes beneath arched brows centered by a raised urna, and elongated lobes, the hair in tight knots surmounted by an ushnisha with a smooth finial
