Tibeto-Chinese, 15th century
Seated on a double-lotus base with ornate petals with the hands folded in dhyanamudra, clad in a billowing dhoti with hems intricately incised with a foliate pattern, adorned with various beaded jewelry and a sash flowing over the shoulders and elbows and streaming over the edge of the base, the face with serene downcast expression flanked by pendant earrings, the hair in locks escaping over the shoulders and secured with a tiara, with few remains of gilding in recessed areas

This finely cast sculpture can be regarded as a protype for Yongle and Xuande period sculpture in the Tibeto-Chinese style. The treatment of the jewelry and streaming ribbons are characteristic features of bronze sculpture of the period.
