A gilt bronze figure of Shadakshari
Tibeto-Chinese, 18th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rim holding a lotus blossom and a mala in his upper set of hands, clad in a sheer dhoti with the folds elegantly pooling below the ankles and adorned with a flowing sash draped over the shoulders and elbows, the face with bow-shaped mouth and elongated eyes flanked by foliate earrings and surmounted by a tiara, the hair in a high chignon and secured with a finial, richly gilt overall with the base sealed and an incised double-vajra
