A gilt bronze figure of Buddha
Nepal, circa 15th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with an incised foliate pattern, the hands in bhumisparsamudra, clad in a voluminous sanghati with the folds elegantly draped over the shoulder and gathered under the ankles, the face with heavy-lidded eyes centered by a raised urna and flanked by pendulous earlobes, the hair in tight curls over the ushnisha and topped with a knop, the base sealed with a double-vajra
