(Title repaired and slightly soiled.) Contemporary blind-panelled pigskin (spine chipped at head, extremities rubbed). Adams E-1061.
PLUTARCH (46-120 A.D.). Vitae ... post Pyladen Brixianum longe diligentius repositae. [Paris]: Josse Bade and Jean Petit, [colophon: printed by Badius Ascensius, 1514]. 2°. Title in red and black with Ascensius's device of a printing-shop and woodcut historiated border, large initials. (Lacks Cc2, Cc5 and final blank, title slightly frayed and finger-soiled at bottom margin, some light worming of text, loss more severe in final quire, occasional stains.) Contemporary pigskin over wooden boards, clasps (soiled, corners worn, front inner hinges stiff). Provenance: Benedictine monastery at Briançon (title inscription). Renouard Ascensius III, p. 175.
