Large rolled hand-coloured engraved world map on two sheets (ea. 1280 x 950mm, together forming a wall map, 1280 x 1900mm), to the scale of 1:15,000,000, laid down on linen, black silk ribbon border, attached to a contemporary roller with ratchet mechanism and original release pull, the map terminating in a 180mm strip of light-green paper and bottom contemporary wooden batten with metal pull-ring. (Light soiling, 380mm split to green paper to left-hand side and a few other very minor splits and losses to right-hand side.) The map contained in a contemporary semi-circular reeded mahogany and oak case (147 x 2130 x 133mm), title panel lettered in gilt (extremities rubbed).
