Raised on three supports cast at the top with cloud motifs, the bulbous sides well cast in high relief with two dragons pursuing flaming pearls, with two further horned dragons climbing up to the rim to form the handles, the domed cover cast in openwork with four dragons with scrolling bodies and raised heads below a fifth dragon coiled amidst lingzhi-shaped clouds, the base cast in relief with a fifteen-character poetic inscription extolling the virtues of the incense burner (ding) and the smoke that it emits, with blackish patina
