Lot Essay

The firm of William Wilkinson is recorded as trading at no. 14 Ludgate Hill, London by 1808. They were highly regarded for their patent furniture, particularly dining tables. After the death of William, the firm was run by his two sons William and Charles, going on to receive important commissions from notable architects including John Rennie and Philip Hardwick.
