An unusual late 19th Century 3 inch gauge spirit fired 2-2-0 locomotive, probably French, with brass centre flue boiler with filler/safety and main stop valves and steam line to frame mounted single oscillating cylinder with disc crank, the crank shaft with curved spoked flywheel and rope pulley, with gear drive to main wheels, front axle with radius adjustment, cast iron frames with pierced brass front railings and wooden rear buffer beam and burner, the black and gilded frame with brass plate embossed Vulcan Reg: No 175433 J.P. Birn, finished in black and polished brightwork -- 7½ x 8½in. (9 x 21.5cm.). Display base and glazed case (one pane of glass cracked)
