Various Owners
This Lupot is traditionally believed to have once belonged to the German violinist, composer and conductor Ludwig Spohr. Considered as famous as Beethoven and creating works seen on par with Mozart, Spohr acquired this violin in exchange for a G.B. Guadagnini. It is said that Spohr was struck with the violin's full and powerful tone and maintained it as his primary instrument.
