Of mallet form, with lobed sides and ring-molded waisted neck, with lobed hexafoil stopper, the body centering an enameled gold foil inclusion depicting the conjoined arms of the Naryshkin and Czetwertynski families, the rim inscribed '5,' otherwise unmarked

Lot Essay

This service may have belonged to Dmitry Lvovich Naryshkin (1764-1838) and his wife Maria, née Czetwertynska (1779-1854), a mistress of Emperor Alexander I.
