CIRCA 1885, SIGNED T.(HEODORE) LEROY

Théodore Eugène Leroy of Seine-Saint-Denis is recorded as a regular contributor to the Salon de la Société nationale des Beaux-Arts in the late 19th century. He also displayed 'emaux peints' at the Paris 1900 Exposition Universelle. A group of plaques created in the same manner and attributed to Emile Delforge, Theodore Leroy and Lamy were sold in the Mr and Mrs Marvin Greenfield Collection, Christie's, New York, 20 October 2008, lots 122-129. Both Delforge and Leroy were much praised for their creation of this technique, winning gold medals for their work in 1885.
