Gouache heightened with gold on paper, one side with a large scale depiction of Farhad carrying Shirin and her white horse on his shoulders, two nervous looking attendants watch on, a sprawling town on the horizon, the other side depicting a heavily armed Deccani prince in white robes, identification inscription above in black nasta'liq, both miniatures laid down between minor gold illuminated borders on a wide album leaf with gold floral illumination
Largest miniature 9¾ x 6¼in. (24.1 x 15.5cm.); folio 17¼ x 10 7/8in. (44 x 27.5cm.)
