Arabic manuscript on paper, 245ff. as numbered plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 17ll. of neat black naskh, gold roundel verse markers, catchwords, text panels outlined in gold, red and blue, red page numbers in circles in the upper margins, gold and black outer rules, sura headings in red on gold and polychrome illuminated panels, marginal drop-shaped medallions marking juz' and nisf juz', ogival medallions marking hizb, frontispiece with two medallions issuing pendants and containing 13ll. of red naskh surrounded by gold and polychrome illumination, subsequent folio with dense polychrome illumination surrounding sura al-fatiha and the first lines of al-baqara in clouds reserved against gold ground, third bifolio with floral illuminated margins surrounding text also in clouds against gold ground, end of the Qur'an followed by 4ff. of prayers, minor staining, wormholing and marginal repair, in contemporaneous red lacquer binding with central medallions and pendants filled with vine leaves and grapes, a border of scrolling vine around, black lacquer doublures with gold outlines
