GOA OR GUJARAT, WESTERN INDIA, 17TH CENTURY
Of rectangular form, with tall bevelled cover, the wood casket with tortoiseshell veneer overall, inlaid with mother-of-pearl motifs includings birds, rabbits and dogs, with rosettes and chequered motifs, the ground with applied silver rosettes or bands of small studs along the leading edges, with two handles, lock and key, cracks, some losses, small restoration
5 x 9 x 5 1/8in. (12.7 x 23 x 13xcm.)
