OTTOMAN TURKEY, 19TH CENTURY
With typical single-edged curved blade broadening and double-edged towards the point, the hilt and scabbard with coral, turquoise and red glass insets overall on copper ground, the back of the sheath with tombak repoussé plaques with floral scrolls, with two suspension rings, the blade with gold-damascened arabesques, one inscribed medallion in naskh script reading Qur'an LXI, v.13 (part), nasr min Allah wa fath qarib (help from Allah and present victory), good overall condition
