Lot Essay

With Rolex period fitted cardboard presentation box.

The present ref. 1558 is a rare example of one of Rolex's lady's wristwatches of the late 1940s, distinguished by the unusual case design and the use of an automatic movement, at the time a rather uncommon feature in a watch of such comparable small size. It is furthermore distinguished by its very good and original overall condition and the retailer signature Serpico y Laino, Rolex's representative in Caracas, Venezuela.
