A RARE PAIR OF CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' DISHES
LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
Each dish is brightly enamelled to the centre with a dragon and phoenix in pursuit of the flaming pearl and amidst stylised clouds. The short rim has a meandering scroll with small flower heads. The exterior is decorated with large lotus flowers borne on meandering scrolls.
