THREE AGATE SNUFF BOTTLES
19TH CENTURY
One bottle is carved using the creamy white areas of the stone to depict a pair of mandarin ducks swimming beside large lotus leaves. Another has circular bands of milky white and russet colours. The third bottle is carved to one side with a scene including a fisherman by the sea, the reverse is with a single fish. The stone ranges from opaque white to caramel and russet tones.
