A PAIR OF HONGMU FOLDING HORSESHOE-BACK ARMCHAIRS
19TH CENTURY
Each chair has a rounded crestrail ending in outswept handrests which are supported by the curved extensions of the front legs. There are backsplats carved with a pierced panel with a qilin amongst stylised clouds. The front stretchers are beneath a foot-rest which has a central metal plaque.
