A WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' BOWL
DAOGUANG UNDERGLAZE BLUE SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is decorated to the exterior in bright enamels with two scaly dragons chasing flaming pearls and two long-tailed phoenix, all amidst leafy floral scrolls. The rim has a band containing the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, and the interior depicts a central medallion with a further dragon and flaming pearl.
