A DOUCAI VASE
JIAQING UNDERGLAZE BLUE SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The vase is enamelled around the gently rounded body with two bands, each with four of the 'Eight Buddhist Emblems' and interspersed with meandering lotus scrolls. The neck has two descending bats clasping a chime above large lotus blooms and has been applied on either side with a chilong handle.
