A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE BALUSTER VASE
18TH CENTURY
The vase is painted around the slightly globular body with four roundels of peaches, bats and lingzhi heads, all interspersed with stylised scrolls. The tapering shoulder is decorated with a band of crashing waves below a band of stylised lotus blooms, and the tall neck is painted with a band of lotus flowers borne on leafy scrolls and applied on either side with tubular handles painted with crashing waves.
