From the Khamsa, Persian manuscript on paper, 44ff. plus 9 fly-leaves, each folio with 21ll. of black nasta'liq script arranged in four columns with double black-ruled gold divisions, titles in gold thuluth script in clouds on gold cross-hatched ground within rectangular panels, text within black-ruled gold frame, with four 16th century Safavid miniatures on three folios, opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated headpiece colophon dated, final folio with later added notes and dates of AH 897 and AH 919, in gilt and stamped black morocco binding
