Of striking form and featuring an expressive use of laminated woods, this design did not advance beyond the prototype stage, with only a few examples being produced by manufacturer Johannes Hansen in the early 1960s.
Describing why he did not develop this design, Wegner explained "The laminated constructions and the shells contain so many possibilities that I had to make a choice -- it was not possible to work with solid wood and laminated woods at the same time. I chose solid wood."
