A craft-based tradition driven by the sensitive manipulation of natural materials has long characterised Danish mid-century design, however in his ability to render delicately-styled and meticulously-crafted furnishings, Peder Moos is considered without equal. He elected not to produce works for serial production, prefering instead to deliver smaller-scale furnishings that celebrated the properties of his chosen medium, realised with characteristic subtlty and detail. The present sewing table, which is believed to be unique, is a fluent expression of Moos's personal vision as a designer, and meticulous expertise as a cabinetmaker.
