CHONTAL STONE FIGURE
Late Preclassic, ca. 300-100 B. C
The standing, robust figure with arms held to the sides of the torso and indicated by pecked cavities, the facial features treated as sunken depressions with characteristic raised brow ridge and rectangular ears; in pale green speckled andesite with areas of red pigment overall.
Height: 8½ in. (21.3 cm.)
