Lot Essay

Dogs were indigenous to ancient Mesoamerica, the Mexican Hairless being the likely prototype for the West Mexican effigies. In life and in death, the dog was Pre-Columbian man's companion. Dogs were kept as pets, guardians of the home, and hunting aids.
