Tasting note: The 2009 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is quite a bit darker and richer than the Chambertin. It is a grand, sweeping wine that overtakes the palate with its intense fruit. Rose petals, sweet cherries, spices and minerals emerge from this drop-dead gorgeous, large-scaled Burgundy. The fruit remains fresh, vibrant and powerful through to the massive finish. The Bèze will require patience, but it will be worth the wait. Anticipated maturity: 2024-2044. Wine Advocate #194 May 2011
