Tasting note: The last of all the Grands Crus to be picked. Low yield. Two notes. At the opening tasting, a floral aromatic upsurge, spectacular, indescribable. Most recently: very deep, immature purple rim; rich, spicy, essence of Pinot, minty, arboreal, great depth; fairly sweet, very distinctive, full-flavoured, silky leathery tannins. To requote my 'iron fist in velvet glove' analogy - and surely one of the greatest-ever La Tache, 6 Stars ! Michael Broadbent M.W., July 2003
